Sedibeng u/20 bowls bring medal home

VANDERBIJLPARK. - Bowls is alive and well in the Vaal as Sedibeng boasts talented young players who recently participated in the National Juniors Tournament in Bloemfontein.

The Sedibeng u/20 team returned home with a bronze medal, while the u/15 team ended just short of making the play offs to compete for a medal in fifth place out of 12 teams.

Sedibeng is made up of the following clubs: Vanderbijl Bowling Club, Iscor Bowling Club, Sasol Bowling Club, Henley on Klip, Riverside Bowling Club, Meyerton Bowling Club and Deneysville Bowling Club.

“On behalf of Vanderbijl Bowling Club we would like to wish all the juniors that participated in the National Juniors Tournament a huge congratulations. “You all made us so proud. We had tears and laughter as a team, and brilliant bowls were played. Some intense moments. You all gave your best and we look forward to seeing you rise even further,” says Lizzy Alexanders, spokesperson for the club.

She also thanked Mrs Lizélle Fourie, who is not only a parent to two children that participated, but a mother to all the juniors. She was also the manager of both the u/15 and u/20 teams.
