Golf day for the benefit of Vaal Mental Health

Vaal Mental Health is a non-profitable organisation with offices in Vanderbijlpark and Sebokeng that informs, educates and helps people with mental health issues and mental illness.

The subsidy that the organisation receives from the Department of Social Development is barely enough to cover staff salaries let alone fuel expenses, telephone expenses, as well as stationary expenses incurred on a daily basis.

In order to raise the much needed funds for the organisation, a charity golf day was held at the Maccauvlei Golf Club in Vereeniging on Friday, 27 May.

The event was well attended with approximately 68 players who participated. According to Yvonne Coertze, director of Mental Health Emfuleni, the event was a great success. She thanked everyone who participated in the charity golf day and also extended a heartfelt thank you to all the sponsors, especially local optometrist Conrad van Heyningen and Christo Murphy.
