Warning of hijacking incidents in Evaton

The Evaton Police have warned that the area is experiencing a lot of hijacking incidents and are requesting the community and motorists to be cautious when entering the area.

EVATON.- Police Spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi said that they request drivers to stop giving lifts to hitchhikers.

“It is not safe and it puts your life in danger. In most instance you don’t know the person you are giving the lift to as we are currently experiencing an increase in the number of hijacking and kidnapping cases. We have also put measures in place to fight against this crime committed against drivers and hitchhikers.”

🩸Don’t drive during the night.
🩸Don’t just stop when someone offers help.
🩸Don’t give people lift.
