“An 8-year-old boy was playing in the pool when he came into difficulty and was removed from the water by one of our team of lifeguards. CPR was administered at the scene until the paramedics arrived and tried unsuccessfully to revive the child,” confirms Mr. Mark Hands, Managing Director at Emerald Resort and Casino.

“We are deeply saddened by the incident and our thoughts and prayers go out the child’s family and the Team members involved at this difficult time,” says Hands.

The Aquadome will remain closed until Wednesday while counselling is offered to the family and Emeralds Team members.
