Die personeel en betrokkenis by diereskuilings en soorgelyke organisasies ervaar waarskynlik die meeste hartseer en trauma op 'n daaglikse basis ... en hulle het Vaaldriehoek-inwoners se ondersteuning nodig!

Die Vaaldriehoek het verskeie diereskuilings en aktiviste wat hul beste doen om diere in nood te help, maar al die organisasies trek bitterlik swaar en het ondersteuning nodig.

Sou dit nie wonderlik wees as inwoners een of meer van die organisasies kan kies om op ‘n maandelikse basis te ondersteun nie.

Want onthou, dit is ‘n voortdurende proses. Die kos word opgeëet, die diere moet soms mediese sorg by ‘n veearts kry, en boonop is daar altyd nog ‘n dier in nood wat ingeneem moet word.

Besoek asb. die webtuistes van van ons plaaslike organisasies, kyk die wonderlike werk wat hul doen en ondersteun hulle asb.

Hierdie katjies is onlangs sommer net in ‘n boks voor Purrpaws For Life Rescue Centre se ingang gelos. Klik op foto na hul Facebook blad.

𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝟏 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲

A sight no one wants to see. Our Inspectors are currently dealing with an emergency case whereby a cattle truck caught alight on the N1 highway near Lockvaal – whilst transporting cattle!

The smell of burning flesh and smoke polluting the air, with a sound of cattle bellowing in agony is not for the faint hearted. Our Inspectors face heartbreaking situations on a daily basis and this is most definitely one of them.

So far our team had the end the suffering of 16 cattle that sustained severe burn wounds in the blaze. Fortunately a large number of cattle managed to escape and are now standing next to the highway.

Our team of brave female Inspectors, with the assistance of the transporting company and bystanders, got the cattle into a group and are now herding them to a place of safety. Once the cattle are safe the team will assess the rest of them.

Three precious kittens rescued from campus on Wednesday. I was so emotional yesterday. Managed to grab hold of the grey tabby boy. Easy catch. The other two ran away.

On Thursday I returned in search of the other two. This was no easy attempt. Bitten extremely badly. I’m fine now. They both decided to hide in black rubber cones. I devised a plan to lift them up horizontally so that they would slip down. Grabbed hold of them one by one.

On Thursday the other two joined their sibling. They were infested with ticks and fleas. Bathing them took a long time to ensure that these nasties were gone. The tortoiseshell was definitely more reclusive. Sadly I lost the little tortie. Rest softly angel.
