Temporary closure of Boy Louw Street

The Emfuleni Local Municipality has advised motorists that a portion of Boy Louw Street between the Vereeniging CBD and Steel Park will be temporarily closed for 30 days.

VEREENIGING. – This is to allow for necessary maintenance and construction of the Boy Louw undercarriage, which is in dire need of repair.

Motorists have been complaining about the state of the road, a problem exacerbated by constant flooding due to a pumpstation that is out of order.

“To ensure worker and public safety, the street will be closed to all traffic. Road users and members of the public are advised to use alternative routes and be on the lookout for detours to get to different destinations.

“We appreciate your patience during this construction period. The municipality will make every effort to keep the downtime as short as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience,” the municipality said in a statement last week.
