One dead, one injured after filling station shooting
The motive for the shooting has not yet been established.
MEYERTON. – A 55-year-old man was killed in a shooting incident at a filling station in Meyerton on Tuesday morning (7th November 2023).
According to Constable Tlaleng Moloi, a spokesperson for the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Meyerton, the police received information about a shooting incident at the Caltex filling station on the corner of Johan le Roux Street and Meyer Road in Meyerton at around 11:30.
Upon arrival the police found two wounded African males inside a white BMW motor vehicle.
“The one in the driver seat was taken to hospital for medical attention and the other one on the passenger seat was declared dead at the scene by paramedics,” Moloi said.
The police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder.
The motive behind the incident has not yet been established and the police appeal to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact Meyerton SAPS on 016 360 4700 or phone the Crime Stop Hotline at 08600 10111.
