Man sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for housebreaking

Officer Morongwenyane Innocencia Mofokeng was lauded for her thorough investigation and collection of evidence, following the sentencing of Sam Tsotetsi for housebreaking.

MEYERTON. – 30-year-old Sam Tsotetsi (30) was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in the Vereeniging Regional Court after being convicted of robbery and housebreaking, as well as possession of a dangerous weapon and housebreaking implements.

This comes after Tsotetsi was arrested following an armed at a house in Wosterpark Street in Riversdale on 22nd of February 2022.

According to Tlaleng Moloi, a spokesperson for the Meyerton police, the police responded swiftly and Tsotetsi was found in possession of items that were stolen at the house.

“He (Tsotetsi) was then charged for robbery, housebreaking and possession of a dangerous weapon, as well as housebreaking implements. The case weas registered and assigned to Detective Sergeant Morongwenyane Innocencia Mofokeng for investigation,” Moloi told Vaalweekblad.

According to Moloi, thorough investigation and collection of evidence led to the conviction and sentencing.

Meyerton Station Commander, Colonel Senzangakhona Christopher Mohale, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Detective Sergeant Mofokeng.
