Three arrested for armed house robbery
The suspects will be profiled to determine whether they were involved in previous criminal activities in the Meyerton and surrounding areas.

MEYERTON. – Three suspects were arrested following a house robbery at 21:08 on Monday 15 April in Beethoven Street, Kookrus, Meyerton.
According to Constable Tlaleng Moloi, a spokesperson for the Meyerton police, the three suspects aged between 25 and 40 are alleged to have forcefully broken the kitchen door, after which they gained entry into the house.
It is further alleged that the suspects pointed firearms at the occupants of the house and robbed them of three hard drives, before fleeing the scene of the crime.
“Meyerton police members responded swiftly, followed up on the leads and as a result three suspects were arrested and charged with house robbery and possession of unlicensed firearm,” Moloi told Vaalweekblad.
The arrested suspects will further be profiled to determine whether they were involved in previous criminal activities in the Meyerton and surrounding areas.
The firearms that were recovered will be subjected to ballistic tests to determine if it was previously used in the commission of other serious crimes.
The arrested suspects are expected to appear before the Meyerton Magistrates court soon.
Meyerton acting station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Johan De Winnaar, commended the speedy reaction of the members involved that led to the apprehension of the suspects.
Lt. Johan Colonel De Winnaar further sends a strong warning to criminals who are dealing with property related criminality in Meyerton policing precinct and that the law will eventually catch up to them.
