Who can give Leah a loving home?
VANDERBIJLPARK - Let's show Leah that humans can be kind and provide her a loving home before Christmas.
Gordon van Heerden volunteers at the Vaalpets Animal Shelter just outside Vanderbijlpark.
While volunteering at the shelter, a special furry girl, Leah, has crept into his heart.
Leah is an 8-year-old Staffy-Cross with a heart of gold, and Gordon’s wish is to find her a loving forever home before Christmas.
“This is my only wish, to find a human that needs her as much as she needs them,” says Gordon.
“When Leah was rescued, she was found lying on the ground, pelted with rocks, yet she showed no aggression. Despite her scars and signs of past breeding, Leah has an incredible capacity for love.
“Whenever someone passes her camp, her tail wags excitedly, and she performs her unique happy dance, radiating joy. Despite the abuse she endured, Leah adores humans and yearns for companionship,” says Gordon.
However, Leah needs a quiet home because she fears loud noises. Leah thrives as a solo dog, requiring a peaceful environment to help her heal.
“With patience and care, Leah will become the best companion, bringing warmth and affection to those who welcome her into their lives,” Gordon believes.
Leah has been at Vaalpets for almost a year and a half.
“I don’t want her to grow old alone. I need to find this girl a happy home,” pleads Gordon.
