VANDERBIJLPARK – The 16 children currently residing at Annatjie’s Foster Home on the outskirts of Vanderbijlpark are in for a treat this summer! Riverside Mega Mica recently gifted the foster home with a brand-new swimming pool, ensuring the youngsters will stay cool and entertained during the Vaal’s scorching hot summer.
Annatjie Van Niekerk, affectionately known as “Ouma” to the children, has dedicated her life to providing a safe haven for children aged 18 and under. With 34 years of experience in foster care, Annatjie is assisted by her daughter, Tanya Jordaan, who has been by her side for the past eight years. Together, they provide love, care, and support to the children in their care.
“Our goal is to raise these children with dignity, respect, and the skills necessary to build a bright future for themselves,” Annatjie explains.
Tanya’s recent appeal for assistance from the local business community did not go unnoticed. Riverside Mega Mica stepped in, utilizing their expertise to provide the materials needed to build the swimming pool. The gift is a welcome respite for the children, who will undoubtedly enjoy the pool during the hot summer months.
