New compactors make little impact

DA expresses concern about service delivery

VANDERBIJLPARK – According to a statement released by Cllr Dady Mollo, Democratic Alliance Shadow MMC for Public Works,  the DA is deeply concerned by the ongoing suffering of residents in Sebokeng, Evaton, and surrounding areas. Despite the recent delivery of four new compactors to Emfuleni Mayor Sipho Radebe and the MMC for Environmental Management and Planning, the situation on the ground remains dire.

Last week, the municipality was unable to service the Sebokeng and Evaton areas, and the schedule for this week indicates that these areas will once again not be serviced. Residents continue to endure unsanitary conditions, with waste accumulating in the streets. This is a clear failure by the municipality to provide basic services to its people.

The DA refuses to stay silent in the face of this injustice. The people of Emfuleni deserve better — they deserve a clean, healthy, and safe environment. We demand immediate action from the municipality to restore waste collection services across all areas.

Anything less is unacceptable. The DA will continue to stand up for the rights of Emfuleni residents and hold the municipality accountable for its ongoing failures.
