Golf: Logan Peltier (6) on the rise
VANDERBIJLPARK - Logan Peltier only turned six in January and has secured a spot in the prestigious US Kids Big 5 SA Open golf tournament.
This international three-day-tournament will be hosted at the Magaliespark Golf Course from April 14 to 16, with top junior golfers from around the world competing.
But this feat has nothing to do with luck. This little man has been immersed in golf from an early age.
“He received his first golf club on his first birthday, even before he could walk,” says proud dad Lloyd.
“As soon as he took his first steps, he was already swinging a club”.
Lloyd is also no stranger to the spotlight. He was the frontman of rock band Changing Face before he started a family and became a successful local businessman.
It also needs to be said that Lloyd is a keen golfer with a handicap of 3.

“This was the right decision and led to rapid development. This led to private 45-minute sessions twice a week.
In 2024 Logan played his first two junior tournaments at Heron Banks Golf Club, where he quickly developed a love for competition. Encouraged by his enthusiasm and progress, he joined the US Kids Junior Tour in January 2025.
Since then, Logan has competed in two US Kids tournaments, winning his most recent event with an impressive round of 41 which secured his place in the US Kids Big 5 SA Open. Kids only play nine holes.
“Every morning on our way to school Logan wants to know what time we will be practicing. He just absolutely loves playing golf,” says Lloyd.
This year, his practice schedule has intensified, consisting of two 9-hole lessons per week. Additionally, he dedicates nearly every other day to putting and chipping practice, which accounts for 90% of his practice.
There are three more US kids tournaments before the Big 5 SA Open. Logan is currently in third place having missed out on the first golf tournament (which was apparently dad’s fault).
