Who can be a hero to Leah?

VANDERBIJLPARK - At the end of last year, Vaalweekblad tried to help Vaalpets to find Leah a home before Christmas. Sadly this did not happen.

Leah is an eight-year-old Staffy cross with a heart of gold. She was rescued from a horrific situation where she was found pelted with rocks.

Despite what she endured from humans, her love and forgiveness are inspiring. This loveable “lady” has been working hard to show everyone how resilient and hopeful she can be!

“Leah has been waiting for her forever home for over two years. As she grows older, her need for a loving companion has become more pressing,” says Gordon van Heerden (volunteer at Vaalpets and the driving force behind the project to find Leah her forever home).

Leah has a loving spirit and would make an exceptional companion.

Due to her past experiences, Leah has to deal with emotional scars, making her fearful of loud noises. However, with patience and care, she thrives in quiet environments.

As a dog who adores companionship, Leah requires a home where she’ll receive attention and love. Despite her past abuse, Leah cherishes humans and yearns for a family to call her own.

“Her unique happy dance, accompanied by a wagging tail, is a testament to her loving spirit. Leah also loves car rides and is such a good girl in the car,” says Gordon.

He believes Leah would make an exceptional companion to her owner.

The question now is: Who can be a hero to Leah?
If someone can provide a forever home for Leah, please contact Mari-Leigh on 081 568 2258 or Gordon on 078 170 9182. Leah’s adoption fee has been sponsored but home checks and the adoption process still apply.

Key requirements include:
1. Quiet and peaceful environment
2. Patient and understanding owner
3. A loving and stable home
4. Compatibility with large male dogs (if applicable)
