ELM suspends 17 officials on corruption and theft allegations

VANDERBIJLPARK - Up to 17 municipal officials - including a senior manager - have been suspended by the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) during an anti-corruption drive by Municipal Manager April Ntuli.

The 17 were suspended on a variety of corruption and theft charges last week.

Most of the 17 officials were suspended over alleged diesel theft from ELM – a major problem for the municipality over the years.

The suspensions were reported this week (Tuesday) at a special ELM council meeting by Ntuli.
