VAALPARK – Luis Carrera of Mexico battled nail and tooth to claim the top spot today at the Sunshine Tour Qualifying School Final Stage, held at Heron Banks Golf Course.

Carrera delivered a sensational performance, finishing at 20-under par over four rounds, capped by a stunning final round of 10-under 61 — setting a new course record in the process.

England’s Thomas Spreadborough led for much of the day, but Carrera’s relentless charge down the stretch saw him edge ahead, ultimately securing the win by a single stroke.
