Ramaphosa in the Vaal

For the official launch of the new Station 5A Water Purification Plant.

VEREENIGING – President Cyril Ramaphosa today visited the Rand Water Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Plant in Vereeniging for the official launch of the new Station 5A Water Purification Plant.

The President was welcomed by Minister of Water and Sanitation Pemmy Majodina, accompanied by Deputy Ministers David Mahlobo and Sello Seitlholo. Local government leaders, including City of Johannesburg Executive Mayor Cllr Dada Morero, Sedibeng District Mayor Cllr Lerato Maloka, and Emfuleni Local Municipality Mayor Cllr Sipho Radebe, were also in attendance.

The launch forms part of government’s ongoing drive to strengthen South Africa’s water security and address the increasing demands of the country’s industrial hub.

This initiative delivers on the commitment President Ramaphosa made during his State of the Nation Address earlier this year, where he pledged decisive action to tackle the nation’s water challenges and ensure sustainable supply for communities and industries alike.
