Art in the Park at Riviera on Vaal

VEREENIGING - Art lovers can look forward to something magical this spring.

Art in the Park will be hosted by NG Kerk Deneysville on October 26, at Riviera on Vaal.

This one-day visual arts festival was created to raise funds for the church and give local artists the spotlight they deserve.

Building on the success and lessons learned from last year’s debut, this year’s event is poised to be even more impactful, with artists from across the Vaal Triangle (and beyond) showcasing original paintings, ceramics, sculptures, sketches, and photography.

Admission for the public is free from 09:00 to 15:00.

“This isn’t just another market. Every stall tells a story, and every artist is handpicked, with original, handmade work only. Pure, authentic creativity,” said the organisers.

Aspiring exhibitors can apply by submitting a few images of their work, completing a registration form, and paying a R100 stall fee.

Each participant also donates one artwork, which will be auctioned off in a glamorous, semi-formal sunset cocktail event and live art auction.

With just 80 tickets available, this exclusive evening (from 16:00) promises fine art, fine wine, and a few bidding wars, all in support of a good cause.

Entry is R250 per person, including a glass of wine and delicious eats.

* If you’re an artist wanting to apply, contact Sandra on 072 299 1877, or Atha (at the church office) on 016 371 1405. The deadline is September 1.
