Desperate search for missing Frenchie

Ashley’s plea: "If you have my Lilly, please let her come back to her home and family. She is missed beyond measure, and our hearts are broken."

MEYERTON – Lilly, an 18-month-old spayed and microchipped French Bulldog, vanished from her yard in Glen Donald on the morning of September 15, and her mom, Ashley Ness, is refusing to give up the search.

Ashley, a Senior Inspector at the Highveld Horse Care Unit, has poured her heart into Lilly since she was a five-week-old puppy.

For her entire life, Lilly has known only one mom, sleeping curled up beside Ashley every night and staying close whenever she was home. The sudden silence left by her absence has shattered Ashley’s heart.

The morning Lilly went missing

Ashley let her dogs out for their usual 7:00 sniff and run on the plot while she got ready for work. At 7:15 AM, she went to call them back inside. Her Schnauzer, Pepper, returned, but Lilly was nowhere to be seen.

At first, Ashley wasn’t alarmed, as Lilly loved patrolling the plot’s boundary. However, by 7:40 AM, panic set in. Lilly was simply gone.

Since then, Ashley had done everything humanly possible to find Lilly: Two different K9 trackers assisted with the ground search.

Three different animal communicators have been consulted. Thousands of flyers were distributed at taxi ranks and in neighboring areas, working well past dark.

The story has been featured in two print editions of Vaalweekblad, and her image has flooded social media. There is also a reward for her safe return.

The next crucial step

Ashley is now escalating the search by incorporating new, costly technology, including the use of Virtual Guard and satellite tracking, to analyze what happened that morning and pinpoint Lilly’s location.

She needs your help to fund this expensive but necessary next step. A BackaBuddy Fund has been established to raise the required funds. Please make a financial contribution today to help bring Lilly home. Every single contribution matters.

If you have any information, please contact Ashley Ness on 073 788 1246.

If you have Lilly and wish to return her, please drop her off at Three Rivers Veterinary Clinic or Klip River Animal Clinic in Meyerton. No questions will be asked.
