Lusa Community Chest’s Wish upon a star project success

They usually ask for toys, but this year Lusa Community Chest had to ask for food to help 260 children in dire need. Fortunately, the community and businesses responded.

VANDERBIJLPARK – Every year, the Lusa Community Chest launches a project to provide presents for Christmas to underprivileged children.

However, this year they had to ask for food as 260 children in 13 registered children’s homes in the Vaal Triangle did not have enough food.

The community, especially businesses, responded to their request. On November 26, the main contributors and representatives of the homes came together to witness the conclusion of the Wish Upon a Star 2025 project. The event was held at the Emerald Resort & Casino.

The sponsors and contributors were thanked with specially designed trophies. The companies that were involved were Safripol, BSI Steel, ArcelorMittal, Mission Point, Stick ‘n Tile, Cleveland Silica, Emerald Resort & Casino, IFM 102.2, Mardo Fotos, Mooivaal Media, Vaal Milling, Shoprite, Alta Pretorius, Flip Heystek, North Primary School, Boots and Hats, and Basie & Judy Roux.

Most of the donations were on display during the function and were collected by the children’s home representatives after the function.
