TSHEPISO – Dozens of illegal migrants were arrest in Tshepiso on Thursday.

This is after; a sting operation was conducted by different law enforcement agencies in the area.

The raid followed the second instalment of Gauteng’s Okae Molao operation which was carried out by South African Police Services in the province.

After a roadblock in Sebokeng near Sondela Brewery and Clinix Hospital, cops together with Home Affairs officials convoyed to an informal settlement just outside Tshepiso were scores of illegal immigrants hide.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, spokeswoman Sergeant Nombulelo Mohlakoana said 58 migrants were arrest during the operation.

“We have managed to arrest 58 illegal migrants during operation Okae Molao. The arrested people will appear at various courts in the region,” she said.

Meanwhile members of Sedibeng managed to arrest a total of 180 suspects between the ages of 19 to 52 years for various crimes.

Arrested suspects were involved in assault GBH, possession of illegal firearms, car hijacking, business burglary, house breaking, fraud, possession of illegal substance (drugs), contravention of protection order and driving under influence.

“All suspects will appear in different courts in Sedibeng, Sebokeng, Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark courts,” she said.

Acting District Commissioner Brigadier Mbangwa Nkwashu thanked all members for job well done, especially during the presidential visit, He emphasised that team spirit is the way to success for no one has ever achieved any extraordinary achievement alone.
