Burst water pipes in Vaalpark cause damage to properties

Burst water pipes caused supply disruption to residents in Vaalpark for much of the weekend.

SASOLBURG.- Thousands of litres of drinkable fresh water estimated to have been wasted over the weekend.

Images of burst pipes on the corner of Koeberg and Bloukrans, Wolwekop and Gamsberg streets were widely shared on Saturday, November 12.

This resulted in residents experiencing low pressure.

There was some localised flooding to a number of properties in the area.

Ward 22 Councillor Ruanda Meyer said standby teams had been put on alert and they will have to close the main water supply lines to lower the pressure so they can do the repairs.

Hydrants were opened to release pressure on water lines.

On Monday morning Metsimaholo Teams were on sight.
