ANC Gauteng Caucus wishes Matrics well
"We applaud their (educators commitment to ensuring that an opportunity for a more enriching journey to higher education and training is ushered in for our students."
SEDIBENG. – The Caucus of the African National Congress (ANC) in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) wished all matriculants well this week as they embarked on their final examinations.
Bones Modise, ANC Caucus Spokesperson said that the Caucus finds confidence in the state of readiness and measures put in place by the Gauteng Education Department working in tandem with the National Department of Basic Education in ensuring that this year’s final examinations go well and meet all the prescribed requirements and standards.
The Gauteng Department of Education has registered a total of 191,181 candidates for the 2023 NSC Examinations. From this total, 132,561 is covered by full-time candidates, whilst the remaining figure of 58,620 is covered by part-time/repeater candidates.
Modise said that they are very proud of the consistent hard work and dedication demonstrated by the Class of 2023 in finally reaching the exit stage of basic education.
“Of course, such prosperity would not have been realised if it was not also for the unquestionable commitment displayed by our educators. ‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world’, said our struggle icon, Nelson Mandela. We encourage our matriculants to find counsel in the words of our icon as they enter those examination centers across the province.”
