A fatal pedestrian crash occurred on Monday, November 6, on the R59 between Johan le Roux and Meyer Road in Meyerton.

According to emergency service, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT-SA), on Monday afternoon around 14:00, their Vaal crew received a call for an incident involving a pedestrian and a motor vehicle on the R59 between Johan le Roux and Meyer Road in Meyerton.

CERT-SA states that upon arrival on scene, it was determined that a male pedestrian had been hit by a motor vehicle and was lying next to the highway.

“Unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on scene.”

The circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet clear.

“The scene was handed over to Meyerton SAPS, and an investigation has been launched.”
