A man was killed and a woman seriously injured following a collision between a motorcycle and a minibus. The incident happened on Saturday morning, around 03:00.

Cert SA reports that their Vaal crew received a call following a motorcycle collision on Pierneef and Louis Trichardt Street, Meyerton.

“On arrival, we found that a bike had collided with a minibus, and a male and female patient were trapped underneath the minibus. Midvaal’s fire department lifted the vehicle, and both patients were extricated from underneath the vehicle.”

The female sustained serious injuries, while the male patient succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on scene.

“We stabilized the female patient on scene and she was transported to a nearby facility by ER24. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not clear and will form part of a police investigation,” Cert SA concludes.
