Service delivery outreach launched

The service delivery outreach encompassed various activities such as cleaning illegal dumping sites, repairing potholes, Traffic Law Enforcement, and public education on fire safety and disaster management.

SASOLBURG – Despite ongoing political instability and service delivery challenges in the Metsimaholo Local Municipality, Mayor Jack Malindi remains resolute in his commitment to instigating change across numerous communities.

Hard at work trying to make a difference.

This determination was evident during his 100-day service delivery outreach program, inaugurated on Friday, December 1, at the Orangeville community hall. Accompanied by members of his mayoral committee, councillors, and municipality directors, Malindi led the launch, which welcomed several stakeholders including the South African Police Services, the National Prosecuting Authority of South Africa (NPA), the Social Development Department, and the Health Department.

The service delivery outreach encompassed various activities such as cleaning illegal dumping sites, repairing potholes, Traffic Law Enforcement, and public education on fire safety and disaster management.

Commemorating World AIDS Day, the mayor also used the occasion for a candlelight remembrance.

Post-launch, Malindi expressed appreciation for the collaboration of diverse stakeholders and the substantial turnout. In his address, he stated: “This project is pivotal in enhancing our service delivery approaches. Despite the financial constraints facing the municipality, we remain dedicated to providing essential services to our communities. In a hundred days’ time, we aim to showcase significant milestones achieved through this outreach.”

Malindi affirmed plans to extend the program to other areas, encompassing all townships within the Metsimaholo municipal region.
