Local young girl to represent Vaal at Aerialnastix

"God enables her to do what she loves and we will support her."

SEBOKENG – It seems as if local gymnast, Shadii Pheme (13) from Zone 6, Sebokeng is taking the world by storm.

Pheme will represent South Africa at the Aerialnastix Games scheduled to take place in Mauritius from August 8-12.This was confirmed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by her mother, Nomathemba Pheme.

She is destined for a great future in this sport – already winning some importuned competitions and awards at a very young age. Her rise to stardom started when she joined one of the best gymnastics clubs, Meyerton Gymnastics, in 2022. Her mother told Sedibeng Ster Sport, that Shadii could have played other sports, but she showed more interest in gymnastics.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, her mother said credit should go to the Meyerton Gymnastics coaches for developing her daughter into a great gymnast.

“I really want to thank all the coaches who contributed to my daughter’s development because she started with no prior knowledge or experience. But look at her today, she comes home with medals after each and every competition.  The entire Zone 6 community is proud of her because she is a good example to other little girls out there. We wish her all the best and I have no doubt that she is going to make Sedibeng and South Africa proud in Mauritius,” said her mother proudly.
