Local cycling team making waves on the cycling scene

This local cycling team has become a force to be reckoned with.

VANDERBIJLPARK – Local cycling team NESSA Africa has achieved numerous successful results at cycling events across the country in the last few months.

According to Massimo Guglielmi of Team NESSA Africa, the cycling team was created to inspire, mentor, and coach youth riders (Juniors, U23, and elites) to excel in the sport.

The team is sponsored by NESSA Africa, a family-run engineering firm that has been operating in Vanderbijlpark for more than 40 years.

For the owners of NESSA Africa, Jorge and Carla de Agrela, who are also cycling enthusiasts, the sponsorship goes beyond just the team; it is an investment in the future of these young athletes.

Massimo Guglielmi and Egon Campbell dominated the podium at the Manzil Cycle Race in Klerksdorp.

On October 5, Jose Kleinsmit (U23) took the SA National title at the South African National Omnium Championship on the track.

The next day on October 6 he got a silver medal at the South African National Criterium Championships.

Matthew Symm (junior) was selected to represent South Africa at the CAC ROAD championships in Kenya in October.

He also gained some experience by spending three months racing in Belgium during the winter months.
