VEREENIGING – The Vereeniging SAPS Social Crime Prevention unit, in partnership with Siyabangena Patrollers and Indibano, hosted a successful Career Day at the Vereeniging Police Station on August 8.
The event was designed to engage with learners and introduce them to various departments within the SAPS. Learners had the opportunity to tour different offices in the station and learn about the roles and responsibilities of each department. To make the experience both educational and fun, the learners also received colouring pamphlets filled with information.
Sergeant Anna Maredi from the Social Crime Prevention unit took the lead in educating the learners about the different SAPS units and the vital work they do. She also spoke about the importance of making positive life choices, encouraging learners to stay away from criminal activities, substance abuse, and bullying.
Her message emphasised that by developing strong values and leadership skills early on, young people can grow into confident, capable, and compassionate leaders of the future.
Station Commander Brigadier Sibongile Ndaba expressed her sincere appreciation to Maredi, Siyabangena Patrollers, and Indibano for their commitment to youth development.
