Operation Shanela-Basadi yields positive results

SHARPEVILLE.- Operation Shanela-Basadi which was recently ran by the Sharpeville and Boipatong police bore positive results.

The operation ran concurrently at Sharpeville SAPS and Boipatong SAPS, and was led by Brigadier Sibongile Ndaba.

Police spokesperson, Constable Busisiwe Sango, said that the operation was a collaborative effort between law enforcement agencies to stamp the state’s authority in both areas.

This is where a total of over 34 suspects were arrested for various crimes such as undocumented persons, possession of drugs, Gauteng Liquor Act selling of liquor without a valid license, possession of illicit cigarettes, and driving under the influence of liquor.

All the arrested suspects will appear at the magistrates court soon.
