Mayor hails landmark appointments to stabilise Emfuleni electricity
Under Ntuli’s guidance, Emfuleni has appointed three specialist engineers, including an electrical manager, a position that had remained vacant for more than 10 years.
SEDIBENG.- The Executive Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM), Sipho Radebe, recently commended his Municipal Manager, (MM) April Ntuli for his exceptional leadership in finalising the appointment of key management positions within the municipality’s electricity department.
These strategic appointments, effective from August 1 and September 1, mark a significant step forward in the municipality’s ongoing efforts to achieve institutional stability and restore reliable electricity service to the people of the Vaal, the ELM said.
Under Ntuli’s guidance, Emfuleni has appointed three specialist engineers, including an electrical manager, a position that had remained vacant for more than 10 years.
“This injection of technical expertise is a cornerstone of the municipality’s strategy to stabilise the electricity grid, address historical backlogs, and build a resilient system capable of supporting future growth. The appointment of these skilled professionals underscores our administration’s commitment to turning the tide,” said Radebe.
“Mr Ntuli’s focused leadership in filling these critical vacancies deserves to be applauded. By ensuring the right people occupy the right positions, we are strengthening our institution and ushering in a new era of reliable service delivery for Emfuleni.”
Radebe highlighted that a stable electricity supply is essential for both social well-being and economic prosperity.
“Our desire to position Emfuleni as a premier destination for industrial and agricultural growth is becoming a reality,” he said.
“We are committed not only to regulatory compliance but also to providing a safe, reliable, and high-quality electricity supply that attracts investment, stimulates economic activity, and creates much-needed jobs.”
The ELM Mayor also welcomed all new employees recently appointed across various critical roles, including general workers.
“We extend a warm welcome to our recruits, who have already embraced a culture of dedication and hard work. Their commitment is vital to improving the quality of services we deliver. Together, as a strengthened team, we are rebuilding Emfuleni into a municipality its residents can be proud of.”
