Midvaal acts on Henley on Klip residents’ concerns
Midvaal promises action on crime, roads, and overgrown areas.
HENLEY ON KLIP – The Midvaal Local Municipality says it has moved quickly to address service delivery issues raised by residents during a Mayoral Imbizo in February.
Community members had flagged concerns about crime, roads, and overgrown areas.
In response, the municipality says it is working closely with the South African Police Service (SAPS) and setting up a Safety Unit Task Team to patrol the area.
Security cameras have been installed at key spots, and a solar-powered light has been added to improve visibility.
Roads have also been a focus: potholes on Ewelme Road, The Avenue, and St Davids Road have been patched, while streets including Fraser, Aston, and Regatta have been fog-sprayed to extend their lifespan.
Tree trimming and grass cutting are ongoing.
To tackle unregulated businesses, the municipality says it is surveying all Henley spaza shops for compliance.
It also claims the Mayoral Imbizo programme will continue in other areas, including New Kentucky, De Deur, and Elandsfontein, reaffirming its commitment to listening to and acting on residents’ concerns.
