Notsi wins Miss Culture Global SA

“We should keep in mind that our culture and heritage do not hold us back, but is the driving force that uplifts and motivates us to achieve all that we are destined to achieve."

SHARPEVILLE. – Palesa Tlhalefo Notsi has won the Miss Culture Global SA and will be representing South Africa in Liberia in December.

Miss Culture Global SA is a global pageant that creates a world where cultural diversity is celebrated, embraced and respected. The pageant also advocates for sustainable development, local tourism and cultural unification.

Notsi said that through the win she hopes to inspire the importance of the knowledge of cultural roots and heritage.

“We should keep in mind that our culture and heritage do not hold us back, but is the driving force that uplifts and motivates us to achieve all that we are destined to achieve. I believe that we are capable of achieving all that we set our minds to.”

The 20-year-old daughter of Sarah Manyokolo Notsi, from the House of Sarah – a local fashion design house – started her modelling career at the age of seven. She has since dedicated her skills to teaching young girls how to exercise proper morals, respecting themselves and others around them.

“Without identity one loses oneself. The world has normalised the modern life with complete disregard for our culture and heritage.”

Notsi is passionate about modelling and wants to, “help the youth through discovering their culture and heritage.”
