New fleet to enhance service delivery
Midvaal Local Municipality has expanded its waste management fleet to enhance service efficiency.
MEYERTON – The Midvaal Local Municipality has strengthened its operational capacity with the procurement of 18 new vehicles valued at R21m, to enhance service delivery across the municipality.
The newly acquired fleet includes a water tanker that will be deployed to the Roads section to maintain gravel roads.
This section will also benefit from two 2-ton trucks to help with pothole repairs, as well as two bakkies for staff transportation.
To further improve waste management operations, the municipality added a compactor truck, front loader, excavator, and two additional trucks to its fleet.
In a separate initiative, the municipality has invested an additional R4m in a dedicated water truck to support emergency response efforts, ensuring faster and more effective service during critical situations.
“The traffic department will receive six new vehicles to strengthen traffic management operations and enhance road safety across Midvaal,” the municipality said in a statement.
“Midvaal will continue to invest in expanding its fleet to ensure we reach all corners of the municipality and meet our service delivery commitments.”
This strategic investment underscores Midvaal’s ongoing commitment to improving infrastructure, efficiency, and community well-being through sustained service delivery improvements.
