Recent rains spark renewed frustration in Ward 43

Heavy rains have turned Beverly Hills Phase 2’s roads into danger zones, forcing cars onto pavements and putting pedestrians at risk.

SEBOKENG.- While some might be grateful for the rain that has recently been pouring down on almost a daily basis, the Godly showers are causing havoc for the residents of Beverly Hills Phase 2 in Evaton.

The residents, particularly situated in Eastern Road and Max Road, which are covered with potholes, have approached local councillor, Ayanda Ngubane for help.

They are concerned, now more than ever, as cars and taxis are driving along the sidewalks, some on their pavements. The residents are worried about the safety of their walls and of pedestrians who walk along the sidewalks.

Ngubane said that he has approached the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) Public Works offices to provide answers and/or solutions.

“Residents are now concerned for their safety. They need answers,” Ngubane said while he awaits a response from the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM).
