SPCA thanks local athletic clubs for big food donation

Vaal Athletics Club and friends donated 181.5 kg of pet food to the SPCA.

VEREENIGING – The Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark SPCA has extended heartfelt thanks to Robert Mc Tavis, chairman of the Vaal Athletics Club, for the club’s recent donation of animal food.

During the club’s Tuesday Time Trial on 9 December, members, joined by participants from Actom and Meyerton Athletic Clubs, collected 181.5 kg of dry dog and cat food plus two cans, already surpassing last year’s total of 170.5 kg.

The collection was delivered to the SPCA on Monday morning, and organisers are still accepting contributions, hoping to reach 250 kg to help animals in need. “Support from caring community partners like you enables us to continue our work and make a meaningful impact,” the SPCA said.

Community members who want to help can donate directly to the SPCA. Every contribution goes a long way toward supporting the welfare of local animals.
