Blankets and shelter donated in Savanna City

Blankets were distributed to elderly residents in Savanna City on 17 December as part of an outreach initiative that also introduced a new shelter facility for abused women and children.

SAVANNA CITY. – Elderly residents in Midvaal’s Ward 11 received blankets on Wednesday, 17 December, during a community outreach initiative held in Savanna City.

The initiative was a collaboration between the Democratic Alliance Women’s Network (DAWN) Midvaal and the Idube Foundation NPC, founded by local entrepreneur and businesswoman Danelle Dreyer.

Blankets laid out on a table with recipients during a handover in Savanna City.

In addition to the blanket distribution, a Wendy house was launched for use as a shelter facility that will cater to abused women and children in the community.

The Wendy house was donated by TN Ceramics in Meyerton. Dreyer extended her appreciation to MD Herford Dennis of TN Ceramics, describing the company as a stakeholder in Midvaal whose contribution would have a meaningful impact on vulnerable community members.
