MEYERTON – The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT SA) responded to an assault at the Meyerton Taxi Rank on Saturday afternoon, December 27, at approximately 17:23.

One patient with serious injuries was treated on scene before being transported to a local hospital in a serious but stable condition.

CERT SA thanked local private security company Sekuriteit Sonder Grense (SSG) for dispatching a K9 Reaction Officer to assist and ensure the safety of emergency personnel, noting that armed escorts are often required when operating in high-risk areas.
