Midvaal Mayor sends support to matric class of 2025 ahead of results

The 2025 matric results are expected to be released on January 12, with learners able to access them from January 13.

MEYERTON — As the long‑anticipated 2025 National Senior Certificate (NSC) results are expected to be released today, learners, families and educators across South Africa are on edge awaiting news that could shape the next step in their academic and career journeys.

According to the Department of Basic Education (DBE), the Minister of Basic Education, Siviwe Gwarube, will officially announce the 2025 Matric results on January 12, with individual learners able to access their reports from January 13 via schools, the DBE website, SMS or USSD services.

In support of matriculants in Midvaal, the Midvaal Executive Mayor, Alderman Peter Teixeira, has sent a message of encouragement to learners ahead of today’s announcement.

In a note shared with media by Idah from Midvaal Local Municipality, the mayor’s message reads:

“Today marks an important milestone in your journey. Whether your results meet your expectations or not, remember that the moment does not define your worth or limit your future. It reflects courage, resilience, and the effort you have put in. Celebrate your achievements, learn from the challenges, and know that many paths still lie ahead. Keep believing in yourself, stay focused, and continue to dream boldly. Your journey is only beginning, and brighter opportunities await. We are proud of you and wish you strength and confidence as you take your next steps forward.”

This supportive message aims to reassure learners as the results are released amidst a mix of excitement and nerves, and serves as a reminder that academic outcomes are just one part of the broader journey ahead.

Learners and parents are encouraged to collect their statements of results from schools or check online from 6am on January 13. Officials have also reminded families to verify personal details on their statements and to follow the DBE’s process for queries or remarks if needed.

As the Class of 2025 prepares to learn its fate, the message from local leadership underscores resilience, self‑belief and the many opportunities that lie beyond the exam room.
