VANDERBIJLPARK – Local cyclist Massimo Guglielmi made a strong start to the season after securing second place in the 40–44 age category at the Gauteng Provincial Time Trial Championships.

Riding for Team Nessa, Guglielmi delivered an impressive performance at the Combined Provincial Road and Time Trial Championships, which took place this past weekend in Mapleton, Boksburg.

The Gauteng Provincial Time Trial Championships are regarded as an early indicator of form ahead of major races later in the year, including the 2026 South African National Road Time Trial and Para Championships, scheduled to take place from 5 to 8 February 2026 in Midvaal.

Guglielmi’s podium finish positions him well as the season gains momentum, with Team Nessa also acknowledging the support of its sponsors and partners who continue to play a key role in the team’s performances on the provincial circuit.
