MEYERTON – The Midvaal Local Municipality will be hosting the 2026 State of the Municipality Address (SOMA), which will be delivered by Executive Mayor Alderman Peter Teixeira on Thursday 25 June.

The address, which will be delivered at the Midvaal Christian Centre on the corner of Joos Williamson Rd and Rachel De Beer St in Kookrus, will serve as an opportunity for the Executive Mayor to reflect on his term of office and to report on the municipality’s progress over the past five years.

Key focus areas will include achievements and milestones reached, lessons learned, and an overview of how Midvaal has maintained its track record in service delivery, sound financial management, infrastructure development, good governance, and innovation.

Registration is from 09:00 – 11:30. The official programme starts 12:00.
