VANDERBIJLPARK – The Rotary Club of Riverside celebrated the inauguration of its new president, Russell Stevens as well as the inauguration of the president of the Anns, Ina Labuschagne, on Saturday.
Hosted by the Waterfront Lodge on the Vaal, guests enjoyed top‑quality cuisine in a food and wine pairing experience that set the tone for a warm and meaningful occasion.
Outgoing president Johan du Toit thanked the Rotarians for their contributions over the past year, including the successful Midvaal Fast One Cycle Challenge in January 2025.
The ceremony began with Letitia Stevens lighting the Rotary Candle of Peace with a prayer. Rotary District Governor Grace van Zyl conducted the official inauguration.

New president Russell set the tone for a leadership approach that is less formal but deeply committed to accountability and sustainability.
He challenged members to embrace change, avoid rigid planning, and use Rotary to become better versions of themselves while building stronger communities.
