HENLEY-ON-KLIP – The popular Henley WAM Festival will return for its seventh edition on 5 and 6 September.

The festival combines wine, art and music while also raising funds for local community projects.

Over the years, the Henley WAM Festival has grown from a local fundraising initiative into one of Midvaal’s best-known community events. This year’s programme will once again showcase what makes Henley-on-Klip unique, with visitors able to explore nine venues throughout the village.

Festivalgoers can enjoy tastings of more than 100 South African wines, browse works by local artists, listen to live music and experience the hospitality for which Henley-on-Klip has become known.

The festival was established to assist the Henley Lions Club and Rotary Club in raising funds for projects that support people and families in need within the local community. According to the organisers, every ticket purchased contributes towards helping the organisations continue their work throughout the year.

The event has also become a showcase for local businesses, venues, exhibitors, artists and residents, attracting visitors from across Gauteng and beyond.

The Henley WAM Festival is family-friendly and pet-friendly, with visitors encouraged to spend the weekend in the village and make use of local guesthouses while exploring the area.

Early Bird tickets are available at R170 until 31 July, after which standard tickets will cost R200 from 1 August. Each ticket includes an official Henley WAM Festival wine glass, a festival map, a tasting card and access to wine tasting at all nine participating venues over both festival days.
