Sunday School Foundation in Emalahleni leads crucifixion march

The march saw the children marching in the streets of Klarinet, demonstrating the seven stops of Jesus on His way to the cross.

The Sunday School Foundation, led by Pastor David Nkosi, embarked on a crucifixion march that demonstrated the seven stops of Jesus on His way to the cross.

Held on March 22, the annual march brought together children from across Emalahleni who walked around the streets of Klarinet Extension 3, preaching the gospel of Christ and maintaining the Christian culture.

“During this time before Passover, it has been our ritual from the 1980s to host the crucifixion march where we march in the streets demonstrating the seven stops of Jesus when he was on his way to the cross,” said Pastor David.

The leader said that, as a foundation, they strongly believe in instilling and reviving morals in children, as it arms them and makes them better prepared to face life.

“It is also important for us Christians to preserve our culture so that the current generation and those to come understand why Passover is celebrated,” he said.

The seven stops that were portrayed during the march highlighted important events in the crucifixion of Jesus from the time He was condemned up to the time He was laid in the tomb.

The event was supported by various stakeholders such as parents, pastors, children ministry teachers, and the community of Emalahleni, among others.

“We thank everyone who dropped everything and came to support us. Importantly, we really appreciate the children because the march wouldn’t have been a success without their presence,” Pastor David said.
