Schools, individuals, businesses challenged to support Walk in Faith food drive

As Walk in Faith's year-end food drive gains momentum, the Richards Bay NPO challenges more to support

RICHARDS Bay-based charity Walk in Faith’s year-end food drive is gaining momentum, with Arboretum Primary School and Deynecke Engineering joining Little People’s Centre, Tiny Todz Daycare, and ZulTap Agricultural Enterprises CC in the collection challenge.

Aiming to create over 230 food hampers to feed families in December, Walk in Faith founder Merinda Ackerman challenged more businesses, schools and individuals to support the worthy cause with contributions of non-perishable food items.

Donated goods can be delivered to 38 Raphia Palm in Arboretum by the deadline of 30 November.

“During the festive period, families will need extra groceries as children are home for several weeks and not receiving their regular lunch meals that Walk in Faith provides.

“The need is great but we believe every contribution can make a huge difference. We are grateful to all our supporters and the community who continue to empower us in helping the less fortunate.

“We appeal to schools and organisations to participate in our food drives, and invite their pupils and their families to get involved too.”

Ackerman said their drives for senior citizens, teenagers, toiletries and essential items are also still ongoing.

To support or make a donation, contact Merinda on 081 5382331 or Linda on 083 4170133.
