‘The Bomb’ explodes for Richards Bay Diski Boyz

Richards Bay Rich Boyz soccer team score in East London

A first-half hat-trick from Ntlonelo ‘The Bomb’ Bomelo secured all three points for the Richards Bay FC’s DStv Diski Challenge side on Saturday.

Taking his league tally for the season to 7 goals in 9 games, Bomelo’s contribution gave the Rich Boyz’ U23 side the edge over Chippa United in what was a tight and entertaining away encounter at the Buffalo City Stadium in East London.

He opened the scoring in the 11th minute but the lead did not last long as the Chilli Boys soon bounced back to level matters at 1-1.
But Bomelo showed his class, scoring again in the 39th and 41st minutes to take the score to 3-1 at the break.

The second stanza was a tight affair, the only goal coming for the home side from the penalty spot near the end of regular time as the game ended 3-2 in favour of the NRB young guns.

As the league goes into recess in December, the next fixture will be against Sekhukhune United on 12 January, with the Diski Boyz lying in a comfortable 7th position on the log.

They have lost only one of their last five games, that being a 5-3 score line against SuperSport United, and will want to get right back into stride – not only to climb further upwards, but to better prepare players for call-up into the PSL side if needed.
