Tree causes power outages

Mrs J Peens, Muir Avenue, writes: I would like to share my frustration and anger regarding the electricity which is out once again (November 2).

I am referring to the pole where the trip switch is.

The tree has been ignored despite numerous requests to have it cut.

Every time the wind blows, my home has no electricity supply.

This is the third time in exactly 20 days that this has happened.

The last time I lost the contents of the fridge due to the outage.

I now refuse to pay rates and taxes until such time as that problem is resolved.

The tree simply needs to be cut.

Should this not happen within the next two working days I shall hire a chainsaw and remove the tree completely.

Should this cause damage to the electricity supply for the entire street, I don’t actually care.

Enough is enough.

No service, no rates.
