Auction house on a new high

Park Village Auctions (PVA) ended 2013 off on a high note, and has continued in the same vein throughout the first quarter of 2014.

That’s the news from the company which, in addition to the ordinary course of business, has hosted a number of high profile auctions.

Notable auctions thus far include the disposal of a number of large commercial and residential properties across South Africa: numerous luxury cars, the contents of a “massive” chipboard plant and the disposal of Pro-Wreck Scrap Metals, a large chrome processing plant based in Mooinooi.

According to PVA’s Paul Lendia, prices achieved overall at the Pro-Wreck auction in particular were “phenomenal.” Interestingly, he says the screens and dumpers which were auctioned “stole the show” with these assets achieving between R250 000 and R300 000 each on average.

Notes Roy Lazarus, CEO of PVA: “2014 has gotten off to a good start for PVA. We have already hosted a number of high profile auctions and are on track to host more ‘big ticket’ auctions across the vehicle, property and moveable goods sectors in the months ahead.

In addition to the usual course of business, we are also working on a number of hot prospects and new marketing campaigns which will, as ever, set us apart from the pack. Watch this space.”

It is worth noting that Roy was also recently interviewed by CNBC during a live slot dedicated to property auctions. The fact that CNBC approached PVA lends credence to the company’s reputation as a market leader.
