Don’t miss August auctions

A "massive" collection of diamond drill rigs, trucks and miscellaneous equipment are being brought to market by Park Village Auctions (PVA).

That’s the news from LeRoy Augustyn and Paul Lendia, who have been charged with overseeing the disposal of the assets by way of two separate auctions.

The first collection of assets stems from Bacarac Trading. Items to be auctioned include a large assortment of Boart Longyear, Boyles and Hanjin drill rigs, a fleet of FAW roll back trucks and FAW drop side trucks with cranes, Tata roll back vehicles, Samil Bowser, a fleet of Nissan Hardbody LDV’s, a GWM double cab LDV and much more.

These assets – the majority of which Augustyn says are in particularly good condition – will be auctioned on site at the Vaal Reefs Mine, number 2 shaft in Orkney on August 14 at 10.30am. Viewing will take place on August 13 from 9am to 3pm. Salvage trucks, trailers and implements comprise the majority of the second lot of assets PVA has been instructed to auction in August. Stemming from the liquidation of Zesto Vervoer, these assets comprise an assortment of International truck tractors and assorted cabs, tri-axle trailers, International harvester truck tractors, busses, tri-axle drop side trailers, International chassis, an International Paystar 5000 recovery vehicle, Freightliner Argosy CISX 530 truck tractors and an assortment of engine and gearbox parts.

The auction will be on site at Heilbron, which is located along the R34 Frankfort Road and R57 in the Free State on August 12 at 11am. Viewing will take place on August 11 between 9am and 3pm.

Augustyn says that those with interests in trucks, logistics, scrap, drilling and manufacturing in particular would do well to take note, especially given that the majority of the items are in good condition and offer great value for money.

Given the current nature of the economy and recent interest rate increase, PVA expects a good turnout at both auctions.

Lendia adds bidders should keep an eye out for another of PVA’s upcoming auctions, which will see the firm auctioning another large collection of assets from Burde & Co, a well-established sheet metal manufacturing and engineering plant concern.
