Milestone for auction house

Van’s Auctioneers has announced that their newest business venture, Van’s Wildlife, will soon be dealing with the auctioning and trade of game and specialising in soughtafter scarce game species.

From its beginnings in 1964, the company has expanded its business from the head office in Pretoria to other regions of the country.

In 2007, Mpumalanga Auctioneers, with 50 years of local knowledge and know-how, collaborated with the firm to become Van’s Mpumalanga, with Adriaan Smuts heading this team.

In March 2009, Nico Deyzel became the representative and manager of Van’s Auctioneers Western Cape and in early 2014 Chris Moodley and Paul Holdt became the directors of Van’s Auctioneers in KwaZulu-Natal.

Almost 50 skilled staff members are employed at all of the company’s branches.

They specialise in the selling of properties countrywide, from the smallest apartments to agricultural holdings, residential and commercial developments, farms, offices, businesses, vehicles, trucks, earthmoving equipment, household and office furniture, spares and appliances to the smallest of knick-knacks.

Van’s Auctioneers’ most noteworthy  auctions include the world-class RCI-affiliated resort Crystal Springs near Pilgrims Rest, which sold for R92 million.

An apartment complex in Rustenburg was sold for R35 million and the Aloe Ridge Hotel and Game Reserve in the Cradle of Humankind was sold for R33 million.

The benchmark ocean view property on the Knysna Heads was sold for R24 million and an Isando commercial centre was sold for R16 million.

Van’s Auctioneers has also engaged with a number of celebrities such as Kurt Darren and Bakkies Botha, and the deceased estates of former Teazers boss Lolly Jackson and the renowned boxer Corrie Sanders.
